It was during this period that the majority of Eurasia saw its first human inhabitants This came both from successive migrations out of Africa and migrations from the already settled lands of southern Asia. It was also during this time that some islands which were near already settled areas gained human inhabitants. This applies to Sri Lanka, Tasmania and the islands of the Bismark archipelago.
